                                   Shelburne Waterfront Press Release

The Town of Shelburne’s Department of Public Works has a full slate of work planned for the waterfront this spring and summer. First, the initial phase of the engineering study of the Shelburne Marine Terminal has been completed and public access to the facility has been now restored. There may be additional brief closures required when commercial shipping arrives at the port or when some of the repairs recommended by this report are being made, but we have been informed that the dock will support the necessary loads and normal traffic and use can be permitted once again.

The second phase of this project, which will begin this spring, will include a concerted effort to attract new business and jobs to the Terminal and the town. Besides the obvious aquaculture and fishing industries, the Offshore Oil support industry, container shipping lines, mega yacht shipping agents and cruise ships lines are opportunities that we are planning to investigate. We are hoping to make the Marine Terminal once again an active source of revenue for the town and of jobs for our citizens.
